Not only is Ken Russell not dead, he’s back behind the camera. The 82 year old mad genius has shot a new short film called Boudica Bites Back, about the Celtic queen who waged war against Rome in Britain. Don’t get too excited; like the rest of Russell’s latest work Boudica Bites Back is done fast and cheap, but it’s still a step up from the ‘camcorder in my garage’ aesthetic of Fall of the Louse of Usher.
There’s no trailer yet but the producer’s page has a bunch of stills; the short was done on green screen, and marks Russell’s first foray into HD and green screen.
