Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber star in the unfortunately titled Salt, a film about a woman who may or may not have been framed as a Russian spy with plans to kill the president. The US trailer has appeared on Yahoo today and it starts off as a fairly innocuous-looking film and then takes a sharp turn into WTF territory. Check it out below.
The film has been in production for well over a year, with Tom Cruise originally set to play the lead of Edwin Salt. Change it around and you’ve got Jolie’s Evelyn Salt, thanks to a rewritten script by Kurt Wimmer. Perhaps it was his influence that led a fairly basic premise to become what looks like a ridiculously over the top action film? Na, couldn’t be.
