There are two Americas. And I don’t mean the America that voted for Obama versus the America that’s racist. I mean the America that made Paul Blart: Mall Cop a huge hit and the America that reads CHUD.com.
And now they’re coming for us. The director of Paul Blart, Steve Carr, has been hired to helm the remake of Short Circuit. In the 1986 original, Johnny Five was a military robot, built by a guy in brown face, who gained consciousness after being hit by lightning. Johnny Five ran away and met a sad kid and then made a sequel.
The remake has been in the cards for a while now, but with Carr overseeing it, I bet it happens sooner rather than later. And how long before Carr crosses this over and we get Paul Blart: Robot Cop?
