Couple of news items from Variety that are actually the same news item from the same guy (not sure how that works exactly, but what the hell) concerning ongoing casting for Matt Reeves’ Let The Right One In / Fish Head / Let Me In.  Richard Jenkins and Chloe Moretz have joined the previously-announced Kodi Smit-McPhee, who was in talks and has now signed on.  The coming-of-age horror tale revolves around the relationship between a
preteen boy and a girl who just moved to the neighborhood and happens
to be a vampire. Smit-McPhee and Moretz play the kids, while Jenkins is
the girl’s vampire-hunting guardian.

Jenkins is a busy beaver, with more than half a dozen projects heading to screen including The Rum Diary, The Cabin In The Woods and Eat, Pray, Love; while Smit-McPhee will next be seen in Matching Jack and Moretz in Kick-Ass and Jack And The Beanstalk.  Reactions to the remake have been mixed, but there’s little doubt in Alex’s mind that the original is worth your time, as he pulled the rare double play, grabbing reviews for both the film and the DVD.  Production begins soon in New Mexico.
