The teaser trailer for A Nightmare on Elm Street, the Platinum Dunes remake of the Wes Craven classic, debuted on MySpace tonight. The trailer shows off something that I sensed on my visit to the film’s Chicago set earlier this year: this looks to be a fairly faithful remake, but with a couple of exceptions that intrigue me. One of which is Freddy’s face, the first glimpse of which you get above.
The trailer makes it pretty clear that this is another Platinum Dunes movie, and at this point you either like their house style or you don’t. There’s nothing in the trailer that says to me A Nightmare on Elm Street will win over picky horror hounds who aren’t already on board.
