Here’s an interesting bit of Modern Warfare 2 news from talent agency Gorfaine/Schwartz, of all places:

If Gorfaine/Schwartz can be trusted (I say yes!), the prolific and greatly talented Hans Zimmer is bumping British composer Stephen Barton from the Modern Warfare conductor’s podium. There’s no word yet on whether Harry Gregson-Williams’ memorable COD 4 theme will remain in place.

We can probably expect Modern Warfare 2 to sound more like The Rock and less like The Thin Red Line, although the latter is still Zimmer’s best work. Angry sidebar: Zimmer’s Red Line score lost an Oscar to Nicola Piovani’s inferior work on the slapstick holocaust comedy Life is Beautiful.
