Fairytale Fights. The name says it all, really. The game features lots of twisted versions of fairy tale characters for you to control- everyone from Snow White and Little Red Riding Hood to Jack (from Jack and the Beanstalk) and the Naked Emperor. You’re then given a bright and cutesy environment to run around, and handed over 100 weapons to hack and slash and destroy your foes with. Fairy Tales indeed.

At first glance it might not look like it, but the game uses the Unreal Engine 3. Grab a few friends for up to four-player co-op and you can all spend time together chopping pieces off of your enemies with the game’s signature “Dynamic Slicing” mechanic, which allows you to literally cut any piece off any enemy in real time. Besides that there’s a “Volumetric Liquid System” that allows for liquids to combine (blood, acid, vomit and “goop”) and trail around the place… it can get slippery and your characters will fall if you make too much of a bloodbath.

Definitely looks like a fun little title. We’ll see how it is when Fairytale Fights hits Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 27th, just in time for some alternative programming for Halloween.
