I absolutely loved F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, perhaps scoring it a little higher than most people expected in my review. What can I say, I’m an easy mark for a great horror shooter! The game’s just a blast to play and I’ve been looking to revisit it recently. But there’s more to the story….

Anyone with the game that’s been fiending for more will want to turn on their systems of choice come September 3rd. For the first time ever, the game’s getting a single player expansion by the name of F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn, which will include four brand new levels from a different character’s viewpoint.

Face the chaos of Alma’s aftermath from an entirely new point of view: that of Replica Soldier Foxtrot813. As gamers begin the mission as part of an orbital Powered Armor drop to reinforce their squad, the ruined city of Auburn emanates supernatural events and familiar voices, beckoning Foxtrot813 to go against orders from Replica command. Be careful, not everything is as it seems…

There will be a “robust” demo released on August 27th to show it off. No word on price just yet.

If that’s not enough there’s also going to be a free title update on September 3rd that brings us back the much-missed “Slow-Mo Deathmatch” multiplayer modes from the first game!

Don’t forget there’s already a bunch of DLC out, the Toy Soldiers pack and the Armored Front expansion. If  you’ve never seen the trailers for those two check out those links, because they’re also absolutely hysterical. I want my Monolith’s Greatest Hits cd, damn it.

Anyway, it’s always great to see a developer supporting their game like this, with a nice mix of free and paid dlc that ensures we’ll keep coming back.
