After lots of turmoil and rumors of shut downs, The Green Hornet is finally picking up steam towards production. There’s a director – Michel Gondry – and a damsel (Cameron Diaz) and a villain (Nicolas Cage) to go against our hero (Seth Rogen) and his sidekick, Kato (Jay Chou, replacing Stephen Chow). And out of Wizard World Chicago comes the word that another actor has joined the fray: Edward James Olmos.
Fresh off kicking ass in Battlestar Galactica, the actor is joining the cast, according to Hollywood Snitch. But nobody seems to know what the role is, and nobody seems to really know what kind of movie this is going to be. The Green Hornet’s car, Black Beauty, was unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, but beyond being black and machine gunned up the wazoo, it gave no real indications as to the tone or concept. Will Olmos be doing comedy or playing it straight?
