The first week back at work was of course draining, and I’m sure it’s something I’ll never really get used to, but my second year helped out MUCH more. Saying the same things over and over is annoying, but I just think that my day ends around 4, and then I have the rest of the day to do whatever I please.

I get my own laptop, and that’s a great help with what I have to do, and as I’ve already mentioned, my job is only a mile or so away from where I live. It can only get easier as I get settled in.

My next installment of See this movie! is about the little seen Lee Marvin gem, Prime Cut.

It’s a really great gangster flick that has Lee Marvin going to Kansas City to get a debt repaid that Gene Hackman owes. Gene Hackman by the way is named Mary Ann. No mention is made of why he’s named Mary Ann, and everyone in Kansas City knows him as Mary Ann. That’s one of the funniest things in the movie for me.

Sissy Spacek shows up as a girl thrown into white slavery by the slimy Hackman. She’s also Prime Cut meat. I don’t know what happened before she did Carrie, but in this movie she’s REALLY attractive. It was a surprise seeing how pretty she was in Prime Cut.

The movie’s got great action in it, and a fabulous score by Lalo Schifrin. Really wish it was available on disc.

Rene’s song of the day: “Dies Irae” by Nora Orlandi.

Thanks for reading my blog and see you next time!
