You can tell a lot about a person from the miscellaneous
collection of DVD’s stacked next to their television set. Every film we own says a little bit about us, whether we’d like it to…
or not. So I’ve decided to turn this uncompromising insight on myself by
analyzing my entire DVD collection… one impulse buy at a time.

DAY 7: PROM NIGHT

WHAT IT’S ABOUT:

After watching her family murdered in front of her, the killer breaks out ten years later just in time to take the girl to her senior prom. How romantic. (Hey! Obsession is just a stronger form of love.)

WHY I BOUGHT IT:

It was four dollars to rent, or five dollars to buy. So I took my chances and not a day goes by that I don’t wish I’d kept that extra buck for the ice cream man. Every time I hear that weird electronic jingle coming down the street, I resent this movie just a little bit more.

WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT ME:

I’m not thrifty and will throw perfectly good money away on a “4 for 20” sale. I’m a sucker for stupid horror movies (I’ll be the first in line for the remake of Killer Klowns from Outer Space) and that this girl’s prom was way more eventful than my own. All I remember is that Mike Piazza got traded to the Marlins that day and I bailed on my date to go stalk an ex-girlfriend (Huh. Maybe this movie says more about me than I thought.)

Until next time… Hit me back.
