You can tell a lot about a person from the miscellaneous collection of DVD’s stacked next to their television set. Every film we own says a little bit about us, whether we’d like it to… or not. So I’ve decided to turn this uncompromising insight on myself by analyzing my entire DVD collection… one impulse but at a time.

WHAT IT’S ABOUT:
A pissed off mariachi drags around a guitar
case full of guns looking for revenge when his girlfriend is murdered
by gangsters… AGAIN? Didn’t this already happen to this guy? Dude
needs to stop dating or at least get the girls to sign a consent form
or something before hand. I can imagine the first date. “So what
happened with your last girlfriend? Oh, she was gunned down by
gangsters… but don’t you worry. Lightning never strikes twice, right?”

WHY I BOUGHT IT:
I’m
convinced Robert Rodriquez spent more time on the special features for
this movie than he did on the actual script (and incidentally… the
director’s commentary confirmed this.) It’s a piss poor good awful film
that even Johnny Depp couldn’t save… but it does teach you how to
make delicious breakfast tacos.

WHAT IT SAYS ABOUT ME:
I’m a bit of a hypocrite. I hate when people talk through movies… but will apparently buy the DVD if the director does it.

Until next time… Hit me back.
