I haven’t yet had the chance to be awed by the stupidity of the stereotypes in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, and some of the story choices made in Star Trek may have been, well, iffy at best, but love ’em or hate ’em, you can’t deny that Alex Kurtzman’s and Roberto Orci’s careers are somewhere in Warp 9 right now.  In addition to penning those two blockbusters, they’ve also exec produced The Proposal, which is just shy of $70 million after only two weeks in a typically crowded summer box offfice, and are also executive producers on Fox’s Fringe.  But apparently, that’s not enough for these two guys, and they’re feeling a need to pilfer.  They’ve both signed on to produce License To Steal, scripted by Shane Salerno.  Pic is described as being based on Marc Weingarten’s Salon.com article about
the high-end repo business, in which agents travel all the world to
reclaim play toys including private jets and speedboats.

Said the pair of their new project: “We’re thrilled to be working with Shane, a wildly inventive and
talented creator. His passion was clear the minute he started telling
his story. He has crafted a smart, lighthearted action movie that’s fun
and topical, with a ton of unexpected plot twists..”
This is in addition to the already planned Trek sequel, the rumored Cowboys and Aliens and nearly a dozen upcoming other projects.  Meanwhile, Salerno, who’s coming off of AVP: Requiem and has a certain large shark movie in the works, also has Doomsday Protocol on the horizon.
