The next James Bond movie, the as yet untitled Bond 23, is getting classy. EON is bringing on Peter Morgan to write the screenplay along with Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
Morgan is a famed playwright, and you know him from movies like The Queen, The Last King of Scotland and Frost/Nixon. Purvis and Wade, meanwhile, wrote Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
This is pretty exciting news; Morgan’s a seriously great writer, and it’s refreshing to see that EON and MGM are looking for quality with their next Bond film rather than just whiz-bang action (I imagine Purvis and Wade will help Morgan include that – they’ve been on Bond since The World is Not Enough).
Morgan’s currently got Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter on his plate; once that’s done he’ll move into the Bond universe. I can’t wait to see what he does.
