Breck Eisner’s been in a holding pattern for a remake of The Creature From the Black Lagoon for about ever now, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be moving forward on it any time soon. Ryan Rotten of Shock Til You Drop visited the set of Eisner’s latest movie – another remake, this time of George Romero’s The Crazies – and asked him about the status of the Universal monster.
“We turned in another script there. I think they’re probably going to see how The Wolfman does and then I think we’ll know from there.”
That seems sort of weird – why would a Wolf Man movie really be an indicator of how a Gillman movie would do? – but also makes a certain kind of Hollywood sense. Given the early buzz on The Wolf Man, though, Eisner shouldn’t be getting his hopes up.
