Buzz on Richard Kelly’s The Box, based on the Richard Matheson short story Button, Button, is good. I have the script laying around here, and I should really get cracking on it; what I’ve read (the first 20 pages) is surprisingly character oriented. Hopefully this is Kelly bouncing back from the unmitigated disaster that is Southland Tales.
The poster for the movie gives no indication of that, though. In fact, it just looks like a variation on the From Hell poster. Not a fan of this art, which Kelly posted on his MySpace page. Still, it’s all about the movie, not the promotional materials.
