Julia Roberts is set to become Mary…by producing Jesus Christ. The Hollywood Reporter has word that Roberts is set to work again with her upcoming Fireflies in the Garden director, Dennis Lee, on Jesus Henry Christ. The story centers on Henry James Hermin, a boy who was conceived in a petri dish and raised by a left winger feminist who decides at the age of 10 to go looking for his father by following a trail of Post-It notes stuck around town. The concept is based on Lee’s short film which won a Student Academy Award.
Lee recently made his directorial debut with the upcoming, Fireflies, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Carrie-Anne Moss, Ioan Gruffudd and Hayden Pannettiere. It’s an ensemble drama that spans 20 years and concerns a family’s reaction to a tragedy. As of right now, Roberts isn’t set to star, rather only to produce through her Red Om Films. Her next starring vehicle is Duplicity with Clive Owen.
