I’m not a cartoon guy, so when the first 45 minutes of Up blew me away, I was more surprised than anyone. From what I saw this could be the first bona fide classic from the studio since Toy Story 2. If they stick the landing, of course. I’ve always found that Pixar is amazing at first acts.
Most of what’s in this new trailer is stuff I saw in the first 45 minutes; mostly the zeppelin and biplane business is new to me. But even the footage I’ve already seen works like gangbusters, and I think everybody is going to fall completely in love with Doug the Talking Dog.
