You can have your Transformers, your Terminator, your GI Joe. The summer movie of 2009 for me is Michael Mann’s Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp as John Dillinger, Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis, Billy Crudup as J. Edgar Hoover and Marion Cotillard as Billie Frechette.
The fact that this gets a summer release gives me hope for the future. We’ve seen a tiny bit of footage so far, and now MSN has debuted the first official poster. Yep, this is essentially more marketing (on our part) for movie marketing, but in this case I’m happy to be on board.
