Outlander creators Howard McCain and Dirk Blackman have scored the writing gig for Benderspink’s adaptation of the comic book ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction.

ZMD tells the story of a new covert government weapons program that drops zombies designed to be photosensitive and dissolve at a set time into war zones at night to take out a can of whup-ass on the enemy. Naturally, one fails to blow up at the designated time and an elite team of soldiers must then enter hostile territory to not only combat the enemy, but stop a multiplying zombie army.

Underworld co-creator and actor Kevin Grevioux penned the source material, with art by Geraldo Borges and covers by Paul Ballard.

Next to Outlander, McCain and Blackman’s latest bit of handiwork can currently be seen in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, which they co-wrote with Danny McBride.

Can’t say whether or not McCain and Blackman are the right dudes for the job since I refuse to see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans after how silly the first two chapters were. Additionally, after Russ’ review of Outlander, my anticipation isn’t exactly at an all-time high for this project.

Just a thought, but now that the Bush administration has been booted out of office maybe President Obama can use Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft, and Rumsfeld for this program. After all, they were so gung-ho to go into the Middle East to begin with, and their intelligence is maybe equal to that of your average zombie.
