If I were Frosty or Matt at Collider, I’d be pretty irritated that Hugh Jackman wrote to AICN to clarify recent reports of reshoots on Wolverine. So it’s via Harry that we have a short email with new info and an exclusive image. The nuts and bolts of what Jackman has to say are in the paragraph following:
I wanted to reach out and let you know that due to scheduling conflicts
with certain cast members and location/weather considerations, we had
to wait until now to shoot a couple of scenes. Please rest assured that
WOLVERINE will be badass and hopefully meet all of your expectations. I
am stoked by the positive response to the teaser, which clearly
reflects the tone and scope of the film. If you like that, we’ve got
much more in store!
First reaction: Hey, Jackman reached out. Neat! Second reaction: So…it’s not new or redone material, but stuff they weren’t able to get the first time? Not unprecedented by any means, but sounds like spin to me. (But who the hell am I to say? EDIT: Evidently nobody, as one of our message board readers pointed out that these shoots were mentioned by Lauren Shuler Donner back in October.) Even Harry is in the mix with a typically rambling intro that suggests The Dark Knight has had a specific effect on Wolverine which is being felt in the stuff currently lensing.
