Those special effects wizards have done it again! The LA Times has this exclusive first look at James Cameron’s Avatar (also known as Dances With Pixels) and I dare you to tell me where reality ends and CGI begins. They’ve even gotten a motion blur on CGI James Cameron’s hand to make it look like it’s actually moving. Pretty amazing stuff.
Also for the ladies: Sam Worthington’s entire outfit is actually CGI! The actor reported to set naked every day because Cameron didn’t want to deal with long costume changes or anything and opted instead to digitally paint outfits on the young actor. That should make for some wangtastic behind the scenes features, huh?
In other news, I’ve decided that all the fanboys for this movie will hereby be known as Avatards. So it is spoken.
