No one could be happier with Jack Ketchum’s recent success than me. As a longtime fan of the author it’s been great to see his movie adaptations being done one after the other, and most importantly- done incredibly well. Starting with the incredible and haunting The Girl Next Door and continuing with The Lost and now finally Red (which is available on Netflix to watch instantly, for those of you as hooked on that as I am), his work hasn’t been made into anything less than a good film yet.

While I thought it was a little bizarre than they’d adapt Offspring before its literary predecessor, Off Season, it’s great to see Andrew van den Houten and his Modernciné production company handling things once again. They’re the guys behind Girl Next Door, after all, where they showed that they understood Ketchum’s material better than anyone. Houten sent over some exclusive pictures of the film to Fangoria, which you can see here. Definitely not shying away from the more grisly stuff.

They’re going to be screening the film in February for distributers- let’s hope it gets picked up quick-like.
