Guy Ritchie promised a more action-oriented Holmes for his upcoming film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. We’ve seen a few unofficial photos that support the claim, but now one of the first two stills, which IESB has as exclusives, helps paint the picture in more detail.
It’s been a while since I’ve torn through the Holmes catalogue (which I need to rectify quickly) but I don’t remember anything that would quite justify this shot, in which a shirtless, bloody Holmes faces off against someone in a pit. (EDIT: And yes, as several have pointed out, Holmes was a boxer, so this isn’t outside the lines at all. It’s evidently been WAY too long since I read Holmes; that’s my holiday break reading set.) I hope he’s fighting a mongoose.
