Last week Frank Miller and Rosario Dawson both confirmed that Sin City 2 is on the horizon; Miller said that the script is written and the movie could go before green screens as soon as April. But not every denizen of Sin City is all that excited to return. With lots of Oscar buzz being generated by his performance in The Wrestler, Mickey Rourke makes it sound like he’s not interested.
‘No, I’m not interested in that right now. That’s not a reality right now. It’s pissing in the wind,’ Rourke told Coming Soon. ‘There’s different factions going different directions there. I don’t know. That’s three hours of make up and I’m claustrophobic, so I’m going to have to work something out.’
Of course this could all be bluster and Rourke may just be trying to get his quote upped on the sequel. Even if he does take home the gold, he’d have to be bonkers to think that this will change his career in any significant way. That said, Mickey Rourke is bonkers, so maybe he’s holding out hope that Oscar is going to make him A-list again.
