For a long time I thought I was funny, but as it turned out I wasn’t exactly bringing in the knee slappers. It took a long time for me to figure out that in order to make people laugh, I had to get into physical comedy. I sell my sometimes poor jokes with outrageous facial expressions, and hand movements. Those things can work.

For years I couldn’t “burn” someone. That is a gift that I acquired several years ago that took me some time to hone. It’s definitely come into use. Especially in my profession where there’s kids who try to smart mouth me, and even the most innocent sounding burn results in all the other kids launching into laughter and “ooooooooo!!!!”

I find that being humorous is not always a natural talent that as some say. It can also be an acquired talent through practice. You just have to find the angle that works for you.
