I’ve put off writing about the trailer for Dario Argento’s upcoming self-referential flick Giallo, mostly because the first couple times I tried to watch it I couldn’t even make it to the end. I couldn’t finish watching a trailer. Barely two and a half minutes, and it already hurt. The imitation trailer voice. The DTV lighting and composition. The abject lack of any ideas. Recent movies have proved that Argento still loves beautiful things (by which I mean breasts) and yet his latest stuff grows more aesthetically unappealing with every film.

I do like when Adrien Brody says “I’ll get him,” because it sounds like he’s offering to pick up tacos for lunch. I really believe his determination.
