Depends on who wins, right?

Activision today announced a new game in the works, a title that has you protecting the elite of the United States.

Secret Service takes place on Inauguration Day in Washington D.C. An extremist assault has been launched against the capitol – security has been compromised and it is unclear who is friend or foe. There is no time for negotiation as you are thrust out of the shadows and into the line of fire in order to protect the nation’s leaders. The action takes place among famous landmarks and everywhere in between, including both Marine One and Air Force One.

The game features level design from Daniel Arey (Uncharted, Jak) and contrary to these screens is a first person shooter. You can use both lethal and non-lethal force to take down the attackers. It’s just too bad no real people are going to be included in this game… it would’ve been fun to get an “Oops, Sarah Palin took one in the head!” achievement.

Secret Service is being released for the the Xbox 360, PS2 (yes, 2) and PC later this year as a budget title (40, 30, and 20 bucks, respectively.) Is this a rush job to tie in with the presidential race? Possibly… but it’s undeniably a cool concept. Let’s see if they can do anything with it.

Course, there’s no way your agent could be as cool as Agent Superball from Sam and Max.
