The teaser trailer for Dragonball, the adaptation of the moronic anime series, is now available. Watching this sucker I couldn’t help but get a weird Lord of the Rings vibe out of the opening, with that dumb rhyme and the shot of the Dragonball in someone’s hand. I’m sure this film will be of comparable quality.
Actually, turning off the snark, the footage in this trailer is surprisingly more cinematic than I expected. Early photos made this thing look like it cost about six bucks; this trailer convinces me they spent in the thousands on it. And I like the fact that the trailer alone gives me a sense of the Mad Magazine parody – there’s a character in here whose name appears to be Bulimia.
