micro

Jurassic World is about to become one of the most successful movies of all time, and coming up next is that Ant-Man movie. That’s probably enough inspiration for DreamWorks to go adapt Micro into a movie, as it combines both of those worlds.

Micro is a 2011 novel by late Jurassic Park creator Michael Crichton. It’s about a bunch of biology students who basically get shrunk to explore a scientific research area in a Hawaiian rain forest. As an unexpected conspiracy unfolds, they use all of their skills to evade evil forces and hordes of deadly insects. Super producer Frank Marshall is going to overlook all those ants, praying mantises, worms, spiders, and anything else that crawls around.

The novel is not exactly prime Crichton, but I really enjoyed it as a beach read. The movie should be a fun take on Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Could be another instant Crichton classic just like Sphere or Timeline.
