Lucasarts today announced plans for future downloadable content for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Coming up first up is a costume pack. Doesn’t sound that exciting, till you consider who’s going to be in it.

Besides Luke Skywalker there will also be Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Kit Fisto. Course, it’s merely a cosmetic change, and you can only use these characters in the single player campaign.

Later this year the second portion of DLC will hit, which will be a new single-player mission that takes you to (what’s left of) the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The secret apprentice heads there to learn more about his father. The PS2 version had an exclusive challenge level set in the Temple, perhaps it’s similar?

In any case, pricing and release dates haven’t been announced for these packs.

While the game definitely had its moments a lot of people were underwhelmed by it, but it sure is a hit. The game sold 1.5 million units in the first week, making it the fastest-selling Star Wars (and Lucasarts) title ever. I only wish that the upcoming Fracture would get the same success… it hits next Tuesday and is a helluva lot more fun and satisfying than TFU.
