There’s something very disconcerting about the poster for Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling, which Cinematical premiered today. Angelina Jolie stares at the boy who may or may not be her son as if he’s some sort of bug. Or perhaps a mere mortal; this could be a Clash of the Titans knock-off with Jolie playing Hera, staring down at a pre-pubescent Perseus. Or perhaps not. Regardless, the pure, calculated disdain on her face is ugly. It could simply be the gaze of an actor looking for an Oscar statue.
The Changeling is based on a true story (your favorite trope and mine) and concerns a mother (Jolie) whose missing son is seemingly returned to her by the police. But is it really him, or just a young George Peppard?
