If you enjoyed Feast, you can’t help but be excited for the direct-to-video sequel, Feast II: Sloppy Seconds. Sure, it sounds like something that should be airing as part of Cinemax’s tuck ‘n hump lineup, but there is a reason that people often want to compare the original film’s blend of action, gore, and monsters to From Dusk till Dawn— nobody has made a decent film like this since 1996. Before the emails about your favorite horror actioner flood my inbox, can we just agree that they are few and far between?
The sequel continues the first film’s story as the bar survivors band together with locals from a neighboring town to fight off the monsters.
With Fangoria debuting the cover art for the DVD earlier this week, they’ve now reported that director John Gulager has posted the teaser trailer on his MySpace page.
Just watching the trailer makes me want to rethink that comment I made about Feast being The Boondock Saints of horror films. With Gulager and writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan returning, it just doesn’t seem right to belittle the first film with such a brutal insult when the sequel looks like more of the same and fucking awesome at the same time. Feast II: Sloppy Seconds hits stores on October 7, 2008.
