The lovely (rawr!) Garth at Dark Horizons has run a piece pointing towards a French report of actress Mélanie Laurent joining Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards. Thing is, we don’t know the role. But she’s young enough (25) and pretty enough to be Shoshanna, the French Jew who anchors IG as the female lead.
Garth says “A source close to Laurent indicates the actress has already flown to Los Angeles to work with Tarantino,” but until we get a more specific report, that doesn’t do us a whole lot of good. He might just like pretty French girls.
Another French tabloid has been translated by a reader of the Quentin Tarantino Archives as saying Laurent has been picked to play “the main female part”, but we’ve had far too many tabloid misfires over the years to count that as reliable.
