Variety reports that Idris Elba is in talks to appear in Star Trek 3, maybe as a Klingon villain. It’ll be damn tough to top Christopher Lloyd’s dead-on portrayal from Search For Spock, but if anyone is up to the task it’s STACKER PENTECOST (shudder). But whatever, I’m all for Idris Elba in everything. Even when the movie is shitty, he’s good in it. He brings his game face every time. And speaking of faces, I’m not ashamed in saying the man is a fucking dreamboat. If I met him I know I’d stammer out something stupid and give him an embarrassingly weak handshake. Then it would eat me alive for the rest of my life. Once I walked past Keith David – KEITH DAVID – on the street and he was wearing a kufi and a trenchcoat. I froze in my tracks and he walked right by. I almost ran back to shake his hand, or something, but I was too scared. This was like ten years ago now, and I still think about it.
Anyway, re: Star Treks, let me get this right…Roberto Orci was going to direct Star Trek 3. Then he wasn’t (possiby due to his being a 9/11 thruther and a dick to people on Twitter?). Now Simon Pegg, who is is an actor in the movie, is writing the movie, while Justin Lin (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) is directing the movie. And JJ Abrams is producing, while directing Star Wars 7. Did I get all that right?
