A couple of days ago we brought you my interview with Hellboy, titular star of Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Well, I have a confession to make: Hellboy is a fictional character. He’s not real. He doesn’t look like that – it’s all make-up. And his name isn’t even Hellboy. It’s an actor named Ron Perlman pretending to be Hellboy, repeating words that are written down for him by Guillermo del Toro. I wasn’t even in the same room as Mr. Perlman – that was all done with the magical trickery of ‘computings.’

I know that this is something of a shock, but please don’t hold it against Mr. Perlman. He’s a very nice guy (I had breakfast with him and his dog once), and he’s just doing his job. Take a moment to watch this video interview, where Mr. Perlman makes a case for himself, before you damn him for tricking you.
