I buy very few video games a year – usually just whatever guitar game is out now and whatever Grand Theft Auto sequel has been cranked out. But I’m very excited to add a new game to my tiny library later this year (or early next?) – Ghostbusters. The game is written by Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis, and features all of the main voice cast returning in their roles… except for Rick Moranis.

“He made so much money off of Honey I Shrunk The Kids that he retired. He just doesn’t want to work anymore,” says Ben Borth, producer for Sierra Entertainment. Not too rich to work on this one: Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver and even ol’ Dickless himself, William Atherton.

The Ghostbusters game will function as a sequel to the films. I don’t know if Moranis not returning means the Keymaster Louis Tully won’t be in the game, or if the voice is recast. Too bad Moranis didn’t see the fun in revisiting this character, though.
