Ioncinema has dug up the Cannes teaser poster for Oliver Stone’s W. It’s wordy and dense, and while funny, not something that would ever effectively sell the movie. Don’t actually expect to see it in multiplexes, though. Like a lot of the other art that we see come out of Cannes, this will likely undergo some heavy revision at the very least before showing up near you.
Much bigger news, for those of you who missed it, is that the film will be distributed by LionsGate in October. Personally, I’m hoping for a Saw 5 (4? 6? I don’t even know where that series is anymore) and W double-bill. Though I’m dying to see Stone’s movie for the pure trainwreck potential, I don’t really expect it to be any more satisfying than those…things.
