It’s official. Miramax has announced that Quentin Tarantino’s next film will be The Hateful Eight. As of now, Christoph Waltz and Bruce Dern have been cast in what Tarantino recently told Jay Leno was “a Western.” This isn’t surprising considering how much fun the director has had in the last decade with the genre. We’ve seen him cameo for Takashi Miike in Sukiyaki Western Django (an obvious nod to Yojimbo and A Fistful of Dollars) and Django Unchained couldn’t be more influenced by classic American and Spaghetti Westerns.

So what do you think? Are we ready for Quentin Tarantino to go full blown Western on us and cull the influences of Sergio Leone, Sergio Corbucci, John Ford and Sam Peckinpah? Do we want to see some previous Tarantino actors like Sam Jackson, Harvey Keitel, Michael Keaton or Robert Forster jump on the saddle for some “Magnificent Seven” style action? Tell us what you think in the comments and on the boards and get ready ’cause this one’s gonna be a wild ride.
