According to Derek Anderson, one of the producers behind the upcoming Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, Christian Bale has supposedly signed on for a total of three films in the franchise, meaning two more following the one that’s currently in production.

Three films, eh? You mean to tell me he won’t be burned the hell out after three rounds of Batman, and then he’s going to go three more as the savior of mankind, John Connor?

Don’t get me wrong; I’d love to see an actor of Bale’s stature continue on in the role of Connor, but after doing a bit of hunting, I haven’t found anyone else online breathing a word of this. Then again, I thought the initial reports of Bale starring in the franchise were complete hogwash. Look how that turned out. What the hell do I know?

Nevertheless, Anderson says Bale fell in love with the script for The Future Begins and decided he was on board for two more.

This time around, the story will center on John Connor (Bale) and his band of freedom fighters in the future as they take on the sentient Skynet and his band of cybernetic psychos hellbent on the destruction of all that is human.

Let’s not get our hopes up just yet, folks. Let’s wait and see Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins first before we start jumping up and down about this one. If it sucks, we won’t want to see Bale debasing himself any further.
