Pop “Sequel Circle” into the GPS- 21 Jump Street is officially getting a sequel set for summer 2014 from Sony.
This is another detail-less announcement from CinemaCon yesterday, with this one in particular confirming what we knew was coming before the first film was even released.
The first film very naturally pointed towards college, and it’s a safe bet they’re not going to deviate from that natural course. No word on returning cast aside from Hill and Tatum, but it’s so much their show that it doesn’t matter who else does and does not return.
For Sony it’s always been as simple as a +$200m worldwide gross for the first film, and for me it’s as simple as the first one being funny. I’ll be there.
