http://chud.com/nextraimages/indyfamily.jpgFrank Marshall, producer of the Indiana Jones films, dropped some story and character details to USA Today while flogging the teaser poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. If you’ve been following the movie here at CHUD most of this info will be old news, but it’s nice to get it confirmed.

Perhaps the most telling thing Marshall has to say about the movie is about the origin of the titular crystal skulls themselves. "The theory is they are shaped by higher powers or alien powers or came from another world, or an ancient Mayan civilization had the powers," Marshall tells USA Today. Aliens, you say? That’s familiar.

Marshall also gives the name of Cate Blanchett’s character – Agent Spalko – and explains that Ray Winstone is playing an ‘unethical rival archaeologist.’ Shia’s character remains officially unnamed (it’s Mutt) and his relationship to Indy has not yet been officially revealed. All in good time, I suppose – or are they saving that for the actual film itself?
