Whether intended or not, I’m looking at this latest poster for Texas Chainsaw 3D (courtesy of ShockTilYouDrop) and thinking about boners. It’s not common practice for me, but the angle of the 3D chainsaw combined with the placement of said chainsaw seem to infer that ol’ Leather face is about to ram his raging phallic metaphor into you whether you like it or not. Of course this wouldn’t be the first time, as Leatherface used his tool in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 to similar effect in one memorable sequence. But this still feels all kinds of wrong, and now I need one of those Lifetime Original Movie showers where characters just sit by the drain shivering as they try to make the bad memories go away:
From the gutless title to the toothless trailer, I’ve become less and less enthused for this rebootquel since loving that first poster. A direct sequel to the original, Texas Chainsaw 3D revs into theatres January 4th.
