It’s tough for me to think of two dudes who it would be creepier to imagine being involved in my sex life in any way, shape, or form than Willem Dafoe and Udo Kier, but Von Trier ain’t scared!

Both gentleman are now reportedly taking on supporting roles in Von Trier’s upcoming hardcore sex drama Nymphomaniac, though there are no details about the actual roles as of yet. Dafoe has, of course, already simulated sex on screen with the film’s lead Charlotte Gainsbourg, leading me to wonder if this could be some kind of weird, meta-textual Antichrist crossover. Probably not.

Kier would be new to the inside of Ms. Gainsbourg, but since hopefully not every single character in the film will be an intimate part of the eponymous character’s retelling of her story, perhaps we’ll get to avoid that image altogether.

The plan is still for the film to be released in the two versions, though I’m really keen to get an idea of how that’s going to work. Will the cuts differ purely in how much penetration Von Trier gets away with, or is he more specifically crafting the edits around whatever intensity her gears each cut to? Will certain regions get only one or the other, or will braver Stateside theaters be able to pick their poison?

We’re still a ways off from those answers, so until then glance at the new additions to the cast list that are joining Gainsbourg, Shia LeBouf, Jamie Bell, Stellan Skarsgard, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, and Connie Nielson…

Caroline Goodall (Schindler’s List)
Jean-Marc Barr (Dogville)
Kate Ashfield (Shaun of the Dead)
Saskia Reeves (Butterfly Kiss)
Omar Shargawi (R)

Oh, and unfortunately that Nicole Kidman cameo that was rumored isn’t working out, so the Dogville star won’t be peeking in on the action.
