At this point it’s well past time to put any frustration with the changes forced upon Gangster Squad by the insane actions 
of a man in July, put that whole thing in perspective, and be glad the film is finally able to start gearing up for its January release again.
This new trailer resets the tone and slate for the film, focusing on Gosling and Stone’s romance and the above-the-law nature of the crew. It’s a more dynamic trailer than we’ve seen before, but with no less focus on lots and lots and lots of gunfire.
At the end of the day, it still looks great. I’m sad to see the loss of the great theatre image, no matter how uncomfortable it would now be, but the Chinatown reshoots look like they don’t want for bang and boom.
