There’s an obivious headline for what we’re looking at here, and it took more restraint than I care to admit. What we have, courtesy of EW, is the first still from Alexandre Aja’s upcoming Horns. The film’s based on a novel of the same name by Joe Hill, whose father is some guy named Stephen King.
Horns sees Daniel Radcliffe playing Ig, a young man in his twenties with a surprisingly healthy amount of chest hair. Ig awakens hungover one morning to discover horns sprouting from his head. The horns grow bigger and more terrifying as Ig attempts to solve the mystery behind his girlfriend’s death. And all the sudden I have an awesome-sounding book to read.
It’s an inspired look and one that suits Mr. Radcliffe’s beady little eyes. Dude delivered a strong performance in Hammer-revival The Woman in Black, though it’s admittedly surprising to see the guy gravitating to horror projects as he continues his post-Potter career.
Radcliffe will be joined by a cast that includes Juno Temple, Kelli Garner and James Remar. Look for Horns some time next year.
