Rambo vs. Conan. One half of the players may have changed, but the game is still the same. This UK trailer for Walter Hill’s Bullet to the Head suggests a new Stallone action movie divorced from the winking nostalgia of The Expendables films. I have no qualms with Stallone continuing to lead the charge on an late 80s / early 90s action revival. It’s hard to watch this trailer and not get a Hard Target vibe, especially with the New Orleans setting – hardly a bad thing. Though I find Stallone’s muscles troubling in a “They look like they can pop out and grab me at any second,” sort of way.
What do you think of the trailer? Are we seeing the Walter Hill that gave us The Warriors or the one that politely requested his name be removed from Supernova? Here’s hoping for the former. Good trailer:
