http://chud.com/nextraimages/wolfmandeltoro.jpgFrighteningly omnipresent celebrity gossip website TMZ.com has snapped some pictures of Benicio Del Toro as he prepares to play Larry Talbot, aka The Wolf Man, in the upcoming remake of the Universal monster classic, and either Benicio is going Method on us and finding out what it’s like to get all hairy, or Larry’s gonna have a period where’s he’s a little bit wild.

Or is the hair and beard for The Wolf Man at all? Remember, Benicio is playing Che Guevara in Steven Soderbergh’s two-part biopic, The Argentine and Guerilla. The two already filmed scenes from the movie at the UN last year, because construction on the site would change the look of the location. Could it be that Benicio is doing more work on the film, taking the time before his next film to grow a beard and hair that would allow him to look like Che did in his final days, when he was engaged in guerilla warfare in Bolivia? Below is a picture of Che’s corpse… note the fact that the beard looks an awful lot like what Benicio is currently sporting. The Che films were supposed to start filming this year, and I can’t find any indication that they actually have, but if you have info that production has started in a big way I’d love to hear about it.

So my final diagnosis: not so much lycanthropy as capped communist.
