In the tradition of so-bad-it’s-good cinema, I will forever hold a torch for Bill Condon’s The Twlight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Between rounds of near-abusive vampire/human coitus, Taylor Lautner’s atrocious Taylor Lautner-ness and a psychic fetus breaking its mother’s back from inside the womb, what’s not to love?
With Part 2 on the way, The Insider caught up with human tree trunk Kellan Lutz to talk about this final go-round with the Cullen clan. Lutz (who also happens to be nuts for Utz) tells fans to stay after the credits, and not because he knows you’ll be asking for a refund:
“They’re gonna love it, and Bill [Bill Condon, the director] even told me that, stay for the credits — there’s a really special thing happening.”
I can think of nothing more special than Stephanie Meyer coming out and apologizing for the last seven years. But more than likely we’ll be treated to a flash-forward ala Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2. The future of Twilight is one where Bella’s daughter Renesmee gets it on with her mother’s passionate wolfboy of an ex. That might prove to be a level of awkward worth seeing on film.
