The movie that helped popularize disco in the 70s and made John Travolta a household name, Saturday Night Fever, will be released in September with a 30th Anniversary collector’s edition. Extras will include a commentary by director John Badham (used on the previous DVD), a Catching The Fever featurette, a 30-Year Legacy featurette, a Making Soundtrack History featurette, a Platforms & Polyester featurette, and a Deejays & Discos featurette. Completing the set will be a Spotlight on Travolta, a Back to Bay Ridge feature, a Dance Like Travolta with John Cassese feature, a Fever Challenge, and a 70’s Discopedia.

Meet the RobinsonsMEET THE ROBINSONS

The Disney animated movie Meet the Robinsons will be released in October. The movie was released in both a standard edition and a 3D edition and told the story of Lewis– a brilliant and creative twelve-year-old orphan with a surprising number of clever inventions to his credit, most of which don’t work. Extras will include a commentary by director Stephen Anderson (with a special guest appearance), deleted scenes, a Keep Moving Forward: Inventions that Shaped the World documentary, a "Little Wonders" Rob Thomas music video, a "Kids of the Future" Jonas Brothers music video, a Family Function 5000: Family Tree Game, an Inventing the Robinsons featurette that follows the development from creation, through to the animation process and production. A Blu-ray release will include all of the above, along with even more deleted scenes, and a Bowler Hat Barrage game.

A deluxe edition of Cruising starring Al Pacino will be available to own also this September. The film is loosely based on the novel Cruising (written by New York Times reporter Gerald Walker), about a New York City serial killer targeting gay men in the 1970s. William Friedkin, who achieved critical acclaim for The Frech Connection and The Exorcist, directed this movie, achieving the dubious honor of having it called the Worst Picture, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay at the years Golden Raspberry Awards. Much criticism of the movie calls it homophobic, while recent critics praised the movie as a time capsule of the reaction to gay life in the pre-Aids era. Extras will include an audio commentary with the director, two new featurettes (The History of Cruising and Exorcising Cruising), and the original theatrical trailer.
